Kristin Bjornerud’s watercolours are open-ended poetic narratives that reflect on our complicated relationships to each other and the natural world. Intertwining metaphor with realism, her work concentrates on the female figure as a way of exploring concepts of identity, memory, and landscape through the lens of modern eco-feminism.
Kristin holds a BFA from the University of Lethbridge, Alberta and an MFA from the University of Saskatchewan. She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Ontario Arts Council and the Saskatchewan Arts Board. Her work is represented in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank, the City of Ottawa, Sask Arts and the Brucebo Museum (Sweden) as well as in numerous private collections.
